AUTHORING AN EXCITING AND DYNAMIC NEW CHAPTER

“An impressively seamless transition” is how Douglas Hay, Chairman and Managing Director of Aberdeen Drilling Consultants described his company’s recent move into their new international headquarters based in Aberdeen Scotland.

Located in what was the city’s historic Rubislaw Toll House, the new 5000sq ft offices have been designed to incorporate the very latest developments in office technology. A state of the art telecommunications and conferencing system ensures total contact with clients and ADC inspection teams anywhere in the world, whilst a sophisticated biometrics security system relegates the problem of those mislaid office keys to a thing of the past.

Appreciating the importance of workplace wellbeing, a significant investment into lighting the building with Phillips automated LED technology has been made. Designed to intelligently respond to a variety of conditions, the system is able to measure incoming light levels and automatically adjust itself to provide the most beneficial working environment. Additionally, specialist environment enhancement units wash the walls with subtle pools of light which change colour during the day to further increase the holistic benefits of the workplace.

Mindful that first impressions count, the entrance courtyard is home to the magnificent Gavin Maxwell Otter Unique 2014 commissioned from the renowned international sculptor Laurence Broderick, whilst the reception area is dominated by a unique light wall created by Phillips, called Luminous Textile, which is the first to be installed in Scotland. Compelling in their own right, each installation subconsciously reinforces the unique ‘lateral’ factors that contribute to the success of this family-owned and managed business.

Following the first few days of occupation ADC Director Austin Hay commented “As our thirtieth year of operations approaches, these offices bear witness to the vision, dedication and drive which have propelled ADC from modest beginnings to our position today, as a global player employing in excess of 60 personnel with a hard-earned reputation for quality, accuracy and integrity, qualities which have arguably made us the number one choice for Rig Inspection around the world. Coupled with the ongoing success of our unique online learning environment, ADC Virtual Academy, I predict that this new chapter in ADC’s development, authored within the surroundings of this amazing new workplace is certainly going to be an exciting and dynamic one!”
